Learn how to build a roundhouse from start to finish in 9 days.

Key Information

• Fees: Standard £950, concession £625. Initial deposit of £200.
• Location: Near May Hill, Gloucestershire.
• Duration: 9 days, start at 9:30am and finish at 5:30pm every day.
• Includes: Camping, facilities and organic plant-based lunches and dinners.
• Required: Safety boots. Waterproofs are recommended (but hopefully not needed!).
• All tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your favourite chisels if you want!

What You Will Learn

You will be instructed by experienced tutors in the various stages that are required to complete this low impact building. We expect that you will leave our course with the skills required to have a go at your own project. Some of the areas we will be covering include:

• Site overview – assessing a site before starting building work
• Low impact foundations
• Principles of roundwood timber framing
• How to construct a reciprocal roof
• How to build a green roof
• Straw bale walls
• Building with cob
• Working as a team in community

Fees

Standard tickets are £950. For standard tickets, please pay a £200 deposit and you will receive an email with our bank details to pay the remainder.

Concession tickets are £625. If you are applying for concession, please visit our accessibility page to confirm eligibility before paying your deposit. Please do not pay the deposit without receiving confirmation from us as we will be unable to refund this.

We also offer at our discretion the option to pay the remainder of the course fees in instalments. If you would like to pay in instalments, please contact us before paying your deposit to discuss this further.
