Accessibility
Having worked in building for many years, we know that it is a sector that isn’t even close to being as accessible as it ought to be. We are dedicated to offering learning opportunities to everyone, and challenging the common narratives of who can build and who “can’t”.
We are living in a vastly unequal society, and as a business we want to be part of countering inequalities rather than contributing to them. We aim to provide a learning space that welcomes people from all backgrounds, identities and levels of experience.
If you have any questions about our accessibility and equality policies, feel free to get in touch!
Concessions
We offer a limited number of concessionary places on our courses.
If any of the following apply to you, you may be eligible for a concessionary place! Please note that you will be asked for proof of your eligibility where possible.
- Low Income – Household income below 12k
- In Receipt of Benefits
- Currently a Full Time Student
- Single Parent/Carer
If the below does not apply to you, but you think you may be eligible for a concessionary place for another reason, we’d love to hear from you.
If you need to, you can apply for a concessionary rate paid in instalments (see below).
We don’t have external funding for concessions, so please only apply for a concessionary place if you need one.
Paying By Instalments
As well as offering discounted concessionary rates, we also offer an instalment payment plan option for those who are unable to pay the whole course fee up front.
After paying a deposit, you will be required to fill in and return a guarantor form – this is a requirement for paying your fees by instalment. If you do not return the guarantor form, you will be asked to pay the full fee up front.
Once we’ve received your guarantor form, we will invite you to join our payment plan.
If you’re interested in applying for an instalment payment plan, you can get in touch via our contact form or email at [email protected]. Please use the subject header: “Instalment Payment Request”.
Work Exchange – Cook On The Course
On each of our courses, we are offering 2 work exchange places for those who are interested in cooking on a build.
We are looking for two people who are passionate about food and cooking, with an understanding of the importance of eating organic, locally and seasonally. As our team of cooks, you will be provided with a budget and tasked with planning, buying ingredients for and cooking plant-based lunches and dinners for approximately 25 people. We believe that meal times are the most important part of the day on the build and the cooks are some of the most important people on site.
In return for your cooking on this build, you will be awarded a free place on the following Roundhouse Build course, where you will be cooked for by the next cohort of talented cooks!
For more information and to apply for the work exchange program you can visit the Get Involved page.
